Know Before You Go
Before heading to the LEGO Discovery Center Washington DC, there are a few things you should know to make the most of your visit.
- First, it’s important to note that the center is located at the Springfield Town Center Mall in Springfield, Virginia. The Springfield Town Center Mall is conveniently accessible by public transportation. So, getting there shouldn’t be an issue!
- Inside the center, you’ll find a spacious and well-organized layout, designed to accommodate many visitors without feeling overcrowded. However, the best time to visit is after 2:00 pm. Over the next couple of months, you can expect high crowds, especially on the weekends.
- The center is wheelchair accessible, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the LEGO magic.
- Expect to spend at least 2 hours there! We were there for 3 hours because it was so much fun.😅
- They also have restrooms and family bathrooms with changing tables.
- The LEGO Bricks are sanitized at the end of the day to ensure your kid’s safety. The team removed all the LEGO Bricks from the attraction and place them in a mesh bag and their special dishwasher machine. The Bricks are removed from the dishwasher in the morning and placed back at the attraction.
- No re-entry is allowed, so be sure that you have everything you need before your check-in time.
- Adults are not allowed in the center without kids and kids 17 years and younger are not allowed in the center without an adult.
Getting There by Metro
If you prefer to use public transportation, the LEGO Discovery Center Washington DC is conveniently located near Franconia Springfield Metro Station. From there, it’s just a short 14-minute walk to the center, allowing for a hassle-free journey.
Pro tips: Look out for the giant LEGO Giraffe located at the mall’s main entrance, FREE parking is available steps away from the main entrance. They also have two parking garages you can use to park your vehicle!
Ticket Prices and Hours of Operation
