We fell in love with this fantastic getaway, and honestly, it is even better than Massanutten Resort (if you’ve been there, you know what we mean)!
We did everything from splashing in the indoor waterpark to carving through ski slopes! But we are not sugarcoating it – some things did not quite hit the mark. Still, we cannot wait to come back for more!
Read on for our honest take on what made Camelback Resort an unforgettable adventure and what we look forward to on our next visit.

All You Need to Know About Camelback Resort & Indoor Water Park:
The check-In/ Check-Out Process
The check-in time at the resort is 4:00 PM, but guests can check in earlier if their room is ready. If you arrive early, you can still enjoy the resort’s amenities, including Aquatopia, starting from 12:30 PM, with access to lockers and changing rooms. Check-out time is at 11:00 AM, but guests can still take advantage of the resort’s activities and attractions for the rest of the day. The front desk determines late check-out availability based on hotel occupancy, so guests must call from their room to request and confirm this option
Guess Parking at Camelback Lodge Resort
I was surprised to find that parking at Camelback Lodge Resort comes with an extra cost – and a hefty one! With room rates already on the higher side, I did not appreciate the added expense. The resort offers various parking options, including:
– General parking: $25 per vehicle
– Premium parking (lot D2): $40 per vehicle (weekdays), $50 per vehicle (weekends & holidays)
I believe Camelback Lodge Resort should include parking fees in the resort fee, given the average cost to stay there, even though I know that many US resorts charge extra for parking. It feels like an unnecessary extra charge, and it’s something to keep in mind when budgeting for your stay.
Free Activities at Camelback Lodge Resort
Camelback Lodge Resort offers a range of fun and free daily activities for kids, including:
– Karaoke
– Face painting
– Dino Face Painting
– Tote Bag coloring
– Movie Night
– And many more!
Click here for their activity calendar, and plan your stay around these exciting events! Access to the waterpark is also included in your stay, so there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained.
How do you get around for outdoor activities?
To get around for outdoor activities at Camelback Resort, visitors can use the complimentary shuttle service offered by the resort. The shuttle service runs between the resort’s different areas, including the ski slopes, the waterpark, and the adventure park.
Our accommodations at Camelback Lodge Resort
The King Bunk Suite
We experienced the king bunk suite at Camelback Lodge Resort. It is the perfect choice for our family size. With the capacity to sleep up to 8 guests, this suite is designed with parents and kids in mind. The king bed and queen sofa sleeper provide ample space for adults to rest, while the separate bunk bed section is perfect for kids to have their own space. Remember, the bunk beds don’t have a door but are easily accessible. Plus, with a hallway vanity, microwave, and mini refrigerator, this suite had all the amenities we needed.
The four Bedroom Loft Room
We had the opportunity to experience the loft at Camelback Lodge Resort, and our biggest takeaway was its spaciousness – perfect for large families or groups. The loft also features a small kitchen, fully equipped with a stove, microwave, dishwasher, utensils, cups, and plates, making it ideal for families who want to prep meals and save on food costs. However, it’s worth noting that this option comes with a higher price tag, so it’s only recommended for those who don’t mind splurging or for large families who can truly utilize the space and amenities.
Dining at Camelback Lodge Resort
Camelback Lodge Resort offers various dining options to satisfy your appetite. Some of the dining options available include:
Graffiti Pizza
Graffiti Pizza is 6 out of 10.
During our stay, they only had a pizza and salad. We could not order anything else from their menu as they were out of bread.
Hemispheres
Hemispheres is an 8 out of 10. The service was terrific, and the restaurant had fantastic breakfast options. Hemispheres offers a buffet-style breakfast every day for $22.99 per adult and $13.99 per kid, allowing you to sample an array of delectable dishes.
Café’s & Bar, Coffee by La Colombe
Café’s & Bar, Coffee by La Colombe is a 10 out of 10. They are best known as the Starbucks of Camelback Lodge Resort. This is where I stopped by for my morning coffee at 7 am before my kids were up for the day. You can also enjoy a variety of dining options here with a delicious breakfast sandwich and pastry and stop by for a mid-day snack or refreshing afternoon beverage.
Trails End Pub & Grille
Trails End Pub & Grille is a 7 out of 10. The food was excellent, and we enjoyed how polite and attentive the staff was. However, they charged a $14 service fee and an 18% gratuity, bringing our lunch bill away over $120 for two adults and two kids. It was one expensive lunch.
Berrelli’s Italian Chophouse
We did not dine at Berrelli’s Italian Chophouse, as it was closed on the dates we were at the resort. However, feel free to comment on our blog to let us know your experience.

Get ready for Camelback Lodge Resort to entertain, amuse, and delight you with its fantastic indoor activities! Well, you better be because this place has more fun options than a clown car at a circus. From virtual reality to arcade games, there’s so much to do.
We recommend noting that Camelback Resort charges extra for all activities, and planning your trip with a budget that accounts for these additional costs.

Ropes Course
This daring adventure will take you high above the ground as you navigate a series of obstacles, one step at a time. You’ll be mentally and physically challenged with balancing logs, swaying bridges, cargo nets, and even lily pads seemingly suspended mid-air. But don’t worry – the Ropes Course is designed for all skill levels, so you can take it at your own pace and build your confidence as you go.
The Camelpup Adventures Experience
Camelback Resort has launched “Camelpup Adventures,” and it’s not just for humans anymore! Now, your furry best friend can join the fun and adventure for an additional fee of $150. The resort provides quality time with pets, with a welcome bowl and treat, waste bags, and a designated pet area.
Camelback Lodge Resort permits dogs in select rooms marked with door hanger signs and in designated outdoor areas, but excludes them from Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark, Camelbeach, and the fitness center. However, ensure they don’t steal your snacks or hog the pool. And if they do, don’t worry; you can always blame it on the dog.
Camelback Resort Waterpark Aquatopia
Waterpark Aquatopia is 125,000 square feet of fun with 13 slides, a wave pool, an adventure river, and more. Visitors can enjoy the transparent roof for year-round tanning, and the temperature is always set to a comfortable 84°.
Moreover, notable attractions include the Venus SlydeTrap Waterslide, the longest indoor water coaster slide in the world, and the Adventure River, which runs underground and is highly themed.
The waterpark is also illuminated at night for a magical experience.

Things to know about Camelback Lodge Resort
Here are a few things you should know before visiting the resort.
-Every guest in your reservation will receive an electronic bracelet at check-in. The bracelets will serve as your room keys and admission to the waterpark. Also, with the electronic bracelet, you can purchase drinks, food, and items from the gift shop. Be aware and converse with your kids so you won’t have to deal with surprises at check-out.
-There is no such thing as HAPPY HOURS in any of the bars and restaurants. So, plan accordingly, or you will spend too much money drinking cocktails like me.
-Everything closes early at Camelback Lodge Resort. Be sure to have a plan in place for dinner before 8:00 PM.
-Are you in the area for the day and would like to check out Aquatopia? Camelback Lodge Resort offers day passes to the waterpark for $39.99 per person. Day passes are only sold to guests who are not staying overnight.
-The best time to stay at the resort is during the weekday to avoid crowds. But I am sure that you already know that!
