When it comes to bonding with your kids and family, you not only want to include everyone but you also need to make sure everyone is having a good time. There are a plethora of ways and fun activities you and your family can indulge in for a good time but some are certainly better than others.
As a busy working mom, I make sure to spend time with my little ones, make time for activities and strengthen our bond. Whether it’s a fun weekend getaway or something we can enjoy together at home, I make sure my kids have time to cool off and bond with me.
If you’re looking for new, fun, and exciting activities to enjoy with your kids, here are some of my personal favorites.
Family game night
No matter how hard you try, nothing can beat the excitement and fun of a family game night. You and your kids get to choose interesting games, quarrel, and team up against each other for a fun-filled night.
Scrabble happens to be one of our go-to games mostly because each member of my family gets to play and it’s an educational opportunity for my kids.
Sure, we have our family arguments and quarrels but no family game night is complete without these.
Baking cookies together
A fun activity that also leaves you with delicious treats at the very end? Sign us up! Who doesn’t love cookies? Because we certainly do.
The best part about baking with your family is that you get to divide chores and responsibilities, ensuring everyone has a task at hand and you’re not the only one slaving away in the kitchen.
If you’re not a fan of cookies (…totally judging you) you can try baking brownies, cake, and any other desserts you can enjoy together as a family.
Family movie nights
This is one of the simplest options on our list and something we indulge in quite often. The kids love to bring their favorite movies to the table and everyone gets to vote on what movie they’d like to watch.
Once we’ve finally narrowed down our options, we all curl up in our blankets, turn off the lights and enjoy each other’s company.
Family Camping Getaway Trip
If you don’t want to stay at home and enjoy some of the fun activities listed above, fret not; you always have the option of embarking on a fun family camping trip.
When the pandemic hit, I made it my life’s mission to not just hang out with my kids more often but also give up better life experiences through family weekend trips and getaway vacations. So far, we’ve made a lot of memories in a variety of places across Virginia and definitely encourage you to do the same.
Kids Quarantine and Me is a blog all about sharing our life and travel experiences with our readers, encouraging them to live their life to the fullest too. With my help, you can find the best vacations for black families and go on great weekend getaways with your kids.
