About the Playground

Walker Mill Regional Park is a 471-acre park in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The park features a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, picnicking, and more. With its beautiful natural scenery and peaceful atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy some time in nature.


In addition to its outdoor activities, Walker Mill Regional Park also features a playground best known as Woodland Wonderland. The playground is designed for children ages 2-12 and includes various equipment, such as swings, slides, climbing structures, and more.

 The playground is located near picnic areas, making it an excellent spot for families to enjoy a day out in the park. The park also offers a variety of programs and events throughout the year, including nature walks, fitness classes, and more. Another great park you must check out if you are in the area is Watkins Regional Park. It’s a short 15-minute drive and worth the stop if you are not from the area. Whether looking for an active day out with the family, Walker Mill Regional Park has something for everyone.

🚗 Getting there:

The park is just off Walker Mill Road and is a short drive from major highways such as I-495 and Route. Please note that the address listed below and on Google map will not take you directly to the playground. So you will have to drive down Walker Mill Road until you see the playground.

Woodland Wonderland Playground and Misting Pad

Skate Park

For those looking for a more active experience, Walker Mill Regional Park also features a skate park. The skate park is designed for skateboarders, inline skaters, and BMX riders and includes a variety of ramps, rails, and other obstacles. The skate park is open daily from dawn until dusk and is free to use.

Basketball and Tennis Courts

In addition to the playground and skate park, Walker Mill Regional Park also offers basketball and tennis courts for visitors to enjoy. The basketball court is near the playground and picnic areas, while the tennis courts are near the park’s entrance.

Hiking Trail

For those who enjoy hiking, Walker Mill Regional Park offers a variety of trails to explore. The park features over 7 miles of hiking trails, ranging from easy to moderate difficulty. These trails wind through the park’s beautiful natural scenery, including forests, meadows, and wetlands. Along the way, hikers may spot various wildlife, such as birds, deer, and foxes. The trails are open year-round and are a great way to exercise while enjoying the outdoors.

Restrooms

We only use the bathroom to watch our hands after we finish playing. The restrooms are not the cleanest, so please be aware and bring clorox wipes in case your little ones needs to use the bathroom.
