This is one of our favorite you-pick farms in Virginia. We love visiting every year with our family for field trips. The best part about visiting Braehead Farm is that there is no entry fee. You pay for the berries you pick, ranging from $2 to $3 for a quarter pound. They also have a family playground and farm animals; however, there is a $6 per person entry fee for kids 3 years and older.
Eating on the field is strictly prohibited, so watch your little ones for that.
Pro tip: Keep your eyes on the red strawberries and make sure that you pinch them off the stem properly. To keep them fresh for longer, store strawberries in the refrigerator.
Bonus points for having a kid’s playground.
Miller Farms Market

The patch is situated just across the road from the Market, beyond the large water tanks. You will find ample parking space available for your convenience. Once you are parked, cross the road, and reach the patch. You will be greeted by rows of ripe, juicy strawberries waiting to be picked up there.
Watch your children closely as you start picking strawberries because the road is busy. Once you’ve filled your container with strawberries, return to the Market to check out and pay for your harvest. Their prices are affordable at just $3.99 per pound of strawberries picked.
