Looking for a fun day trip outside of the city? Look no further than Watkins Regional Park! This expansive park offers a variety of activities for all ages, including playgrounds, picnic areas, and even an antique carousel and train ride. Pack a lunch and spend the day enjoying the great outdoors.

About the Playground

Watkins Regional Park has various attractions, including a nature center, a miniature golf course, and a water park. The park also features several hiking trails, playgrounds, and picnic areas. One of the park’s most popular attractions is the antique carousel, which dates to the early 1900s and features hand-carved wooden animals.

In addition to its other attractions, Watkins Regional Park has unique playgrounds, best known as the Wizard of Oz-themed playground, perfect for families with children. These playgrounds are designed to be safe and fun for kids of all ages, with equipment that ranges from swings and slides to climbing structures and balance beams.

The playgrounds are near picnic areas, so you can enjoy a meal while your kids play. Whether you’re looking for a place to let your little ones burn off some energy or want to relax while they play, the playgrounds at Watkins Regional Park are an excellent option for a family day trip. So, add them to your itinerary when you visit this amazing park and pack a picnic.

Since you are already in the area, I suggest you also check out Walker Mill Regional Park Playground, which is a short 15-minute drive. There’s so much to do and see!
