It’s almost Father’s Day, which means it’s time to start planning how you’re going to celebrate the special fathers in your life. If you’re looking for activities and events happening this weekend, we’ve got you covered!
One of the most popular events happening in Northern VA is the One Loudoun Carnival at Uptown. Have you visited yet?
For something a little more low-key, the Fredericksburg Nationals are hosting a Fathers’ Day Coyote Hole Cider Tasting. Dads can enjoy samples of different ciders, paired with a delicious menu. The event will take place at the service club level at the ballpark, with a beautiful view of the field on June 15th. Be sure to reserve your ticket to enjoy a fun day out for the whole family!

Details: This coming Sunday the Flying Circus is hosting a Father’s Day special for the whole family to enjoy. The show takes place outside, so don’t forget to bring your beach chair, an umbrella, and sunscreen. We visited last year, and our kids had a great time. Innovation in Flight Outdoor Aviation Display

Cost: FREE, please note that entry passes are required, so make a reservation ASAP and parking is $15.
Details: This is a fun event where you can talk with pilots of vintage and modern aircraft and learn about the engineering and designs that have taken place over the century. This year’s event will not include indoor programming. If you can’t find tickets for this year, I should share that you can still visit and explore the inside of the Museum. Free tickets are required to access the outdoor aviation area.

Portside in Old Town Summer Festival

Details: I am sure most of you have watched “Are We There Yet”, and if you haven’t that’s okay too. This coming Sunday you can bring your beach chair, drinks, and blanket to enjoy a fun Father’s Day Movie under the stars at the National Harbor. They will start the movie at 6:00 PM so make sure you get there early to get a nice spot on the lawn.

Fun Activities in Northern Virginia
Plan a day trip to one of the top 12 beaches in the DMV or head to one of the many local lakes for a fun creek stomp or BBQ day.
Take a day trip to Washington DC and visit the Planet Word one of my kids favorite museums.
Go grocery shopping at Martin’s for best prices and host a family picnic at your favorite local park.
