The Fourth of July is a time to come together as a nation and celebrate our independence. Many events are happening in the DC Metro Area this year, so you can be sure to find something that fits your taste. From fireworks displays to concerts and parades, we have compiled a list of some of the best celebrations taking place in the area. We hope you have a fun and safe Fourth of July!
If you’re looking for a traditional fireworks display, head to the National Mall. The show starts at dark and is set to patriotic music. You can also catch a glimpse of the fireworks from many of the monuments and memorials around the National Mall. If you want to get up close and personal with the action, there are a few spots.
Fourth of July in Northern Virginia
Things to do this weekend:
- Rent a private pool using the swimply app and enjoy a pool day with your family.
- Take a trip to Go Ape Zipline and Adventure Park in Springfield Virginia with the whole family.
- Check out one of the local beaches in the DMV area.
Fairfax City Parade

Details: Join Fairfax 56th annual independence parade in Old Town Alexandria. There will be nine school marching bands, large inflatable parade balloons, floats, and clowns.
Great Falls Fourth of July Parade

Details: Grab a spot around the Village Centre parking lot loop to view the horses, antique cars, local clubs and organizations, fire trucks, and more. The parade begins on Columbine St, before turning onto Walker Rd and entering the Village Centre near Wells Fargo, and then hugging the lower outer loop. Leesburg Independence Day Parade

Old Town Manassas Celebrate America

Details: Spend the day at the Historic Downtown Manassas, there will be great rides for the kids starting at 3 p.m. They will also have face painters, caricature artists, food concessions, and novelty vendors on site. The firework display will start at 9:15 p.m.
Manassas Park Fourth of July Fireworks

Details: Signal Hill Park will be hosting a Fourth of July fireworks show for families to enjoy. The following food trucks will be on-site Speedy Pop, Snowie, Mimi’s Ice, Bangkok House, and House of Ice Cream. So, if you are planning to get some food and snacks don’t forget to bring cash.
Annual Fourth of July Bike Parade
